Maxwell’s Pumpkin Farm was started by chance. Clay and Linda Maxwell had put a sign along the road to sell some potatoes, but people kept asking to buy their pumpkin decorations. The Maxwells decided to couple their love of harvest decorating with the idea of selling pumpkins, so they planted some seeds. The following October, they started crafting their creative displays and selling pumpkins.
Our witch stands nearly 20 feet tall and is super old. She was built by Clay and their daughter, Mindy, in 1981. Her face is sculpted from metal and fiberglass. Her hair is, well … just beautiful, as everyone can see.
A pumpkin is 90% water – makes you wonder just how much water is in those really big pumpkins, doesn’t it?
In French, the words for cotton candy mean “daddy’s beard.”
